Perhaps these Blue Sun travel posters will help.
And remember, if you’re headed for Miranda, watch out for the Pax.

If only I were in San Diego, I would bid fiercely on this auction. It would be worth every penny (and, oh my, I bet it’s going to be a lot of pennies).
*sigh* I want a new Joss show to watch. (Not that I don’t love the old ones, but, well, I want newness.)
(Thanks to BB for the tip.)
She’s a beautiful ship

Words cannot describe how much I want these gorgeous blueprints of Serenity.
Dammit. I’m trying soooo hard not to spend money right now, but I am smitten with these. (Again — why am I not independently wealthy?)
Hmm. Looks familiar.

Anybody else think that Buell’s design #10 looks an awful lot like a certain spacecraft we all know and love?
Interesting. Probably some sort of copyright violation, but still a little bit cool.

Wikipedia’s wonderful List of Problems Solved by McGyver
And can I just say how much I like that debit MasterCard ad that uses McGyver? All commercials should be such fun.
Can’t Stop the Serenity
Monday, June 12th, 2006 | Joss Whedon-y Goodness | 2 Comments
I think the site’s description says it all:
Joss Whedon’s Serenity on the big screen.
On Joss Whedon’s birthday.
To benefit Joss Whedon’s favorite charity, Equality Now.
Info on all planned screenings (US and international) can be found at Can’t Stop the Serenity. Info on the Milwaukee-area screening (which will be held on June 22, not June 23) can be found at this site. Prices are a little higher than normal movies, but remember — the extra is going to charity, and there will be some giveaways. Besides, it’s worth it to see that beautiful little ship on a big screen again.
Baaaaa-d art

The Sheep Market, or “What happens when you ask 10,000 online workers — some of whom have clearly never seen a sheep — to draw a sheep.”
Actually, a couple of them, like #2824 and #8984, are pretty good. But lordy, most of ‘em are terrible. #3062 is clearly a lion. Also: Dear #6341, they said “left.”
The whole thing kind of reminds me of an exchange from Firefly:
INARA
What is this? A duck?KAYLEE
That’s a swan. And I like it.INARA
You do?KAYLEE
It looks like it was made with, you know… longing. Made by a person really longed to see a swan.INARA
Perhaps because they’d only heard of them by rough description.
Sailor Moon last year didn’t go nearly as well

Huge thanks to Steelbuddha for sending this hilarious Joss Whedon (with an “h”) interview my way. (“What I’ve found out he likes to do mostly is just sit and look kind of pasty.”)
Also: New Joss movie on the way. Hooray!
Joss!

Joss Whedon Eyes the Future of TV
This is a few months old. Somehow I missed it. So I link it here in case you missed it too and you need a chuckle. Also, I’d just like Joss to know that I already have a lock on the whole CSI: Akron idea.
Secondary, unrelated Joss-y bit: Yo-Saf-Bridge from Firefly is on Without a Trace tonight. She’s the one who goes missing. I keep wanting to yell “She’s not missing! She’s just messing with you! Oh, and make sure you don’t kiss her. Very important, that.”
It’s on now

Read the article then enjoy the comments. (If you’re lazy, you can read the article and then just skip to comment #4.)
(Tip o’ the hat to Average-Bear for the Whedon fix.)

Joss Whedon, discussing the rumor that the new CW network will pick up Firefly.
I miss Joss’ shows. A lot.
Serenity: Abridged

For those too lazy to sit through Serenity or who just need a quick refresher on the movie, The Hand Puppet Movie Theatre brings you Serenity – Emergency Naptime Procedures Implemented”.
It’s brilliant. But remember, for those of you who haven’t yet seen the flick and are planning to, it’s chock full o’ spoilers, albeit in hand-puppet form.
Hmm. Seems kinda familiar, but I can’t quite place it.

I’m sure this is OFN, but I’d never heard of it before I saw a posting on the Milwaukee Browncoats board. (Whoops. There goes the last hope of any chance I have of you all thinking I’m not a huge nerd.)
Some enterprising Canadians did themselves a nice little film spoof of Firefly for the DragonCon 2005 film fest. (Oh, just now you’ve made it to “huge nerd”?) The film itself is a 64MB download, but it’s worth it for the chuckles. Make sure you stick around for the theme song and the credits. And kudos to James Warnez for nailing Joss’ fashion stylings.
Joss Whedon, I loves you

Reuters article on Serenity, for those of you who aren’t already diehard Browncoats and would like a little background before you go.
“We have a much broader base than just sci-fi people,” [Whedon] says. “That’s what I found in our screenings so far. They’re a diverse group, fairly well-adjusted socially, and I expect that a lot of them are even having sex. I really think the line between geeks and the rest of the world is blurring.”
Shiny.
The wait is finally almost over

Only a few more days until the Big Damn Movie is out, and we’re going to see it on the Ultra Screen. (So they really will be Big Damn Heroes. Very, very big.) Can’t hardly wait. In addition to really liking the idea of a 30-foot-tall Nathan Fillion, I can’t wait to see my very favoritest ship on the big screen.

“Okay. So she won’t win any beauty contests, that’s true enough. But she’s solid. Ship like this, be with ya ’til the day you die.”
One more month

Very wonderful guerilla poster art for Serenity. I am so diggin’ the first Jayne poster, Kayleigh’s poster and the Wanted poster for Mal. Looks like I’ve got me some new art for my cube.
(Xie-xie to Johnny Bacardi for the tip.)
