Not much to add here

Wednesday, July 31st, 2002 | Life in Czeltistan | Comments Off

Not much to add here today. It was a long and tiring day, and I’m just glad it’s over. I suspect it’s going to be a looooong August if this kind of workload keeps up.

But, with August comes Irish Fest, so not all is lost. Pulling a shift all three days again (not that I can remember the times), so if you happen to be in the Milwaukee area the third weekend of August and make it to the Fest, stop by the rock stage & look for me. I’ll probably be around somewhere. Got smart this year — took Monday and Friday off of work. Now I can actually stay out and play Thursday night after the preview night. (Because we all know that hitting the Park East after Friday, Saturday and Sunday just isn’t enough. I’m getting too old for this…)

Looks like we’ve got some good bands this year. (No Danu. Grrr. Don’t even get me started on that.) Should be a good Fest. Plus, Christyl gets excused from lawyering a day early this year, which makes it even better. Now I’ve got a partner in crime for two days. Heh.

Smallish addition to the right navigation — a little list of stuff I’ve read or been listenting to lately. Check some of it out if you’re so inclined.

Ok. Well let’s see if I can get this to post today. (Troubles with posting over the weekend.)

I’m supposed to be getting some reunion photos in from Steve. I’ll get those posted here as soon as possible. And maybe, if you’re all really good, I’ll put some links in the navigation so you’ll always be able to access the photo albums without digging through my posts to find them. (And won’t that be exciting for those of you who aren’t related to us all?)

In the meantime, all I have to offer is this little link to the Buffy Meetup for the Buffy fans among you. Go. Meet some new people in your area. Hey, at least you’ve got an icebreaker. (Note, I have no affiliation with I just happen to have gotten taken in by three different Meetup groups.)

“Dude, I have the perfect idea for our band photo!!”

These are hilarious. I can’t look away. (Link via Metafilter.)

What is this — national “wonder what nonsense I can get by the editor” day?

“My name is Ron B., and I wouldn’t know an athlete if one came up and bit me in the ass.”

And for the Buffy fans

And for the Buffy fans in the audience who might be needing some new art for their desktop, I give you “Buffy Park”!! Don’t ask me who created this, but it’s brilliant!

So. 33. Feels pretty much

So. 33. Feels pretty much like 32.

‘Course it’s only been one day…

Oh, and what’s all this nonsense about my birthday weather showing up a day late? Uh, hello — weatherfolk, I ordered the low-70s for yesterday, not today. Can’t so much enjoy that when I’m sitting in an office, now can I? (And I will find out which one of you was responsible for that heat yesterday. Heads will roll.)

Wish I had some more of my cake to munch on. That’s what I get for leaving it at Mom’s…

Oops. Forgot to post two

Oops. Forgot to post two non-family photos. Just some nice little Summerfest photos from the night of the Guided By Voices show.

My friends Natalie, Christyl, Kim & Greg.

Me and my friend Kim. Eep — we’ve known each other for 19 years now.

Got the family reunion photos

Friday, July 19th, 2002 | General | Comments Off

Got the family reunion photos back. You can find them at this site Use the password “meyers” to access them. (Yes, yes, I know. Stealthy password.) If anyone would like copies of any of the photos, I have higher-resolution photos on disk that I can e-mail to you. Or, if you prefer the low-tech method, let me know which photo you would like and I can have one printed up for you.

Not much else new today, and since I’m trying to crank through my work to get out of here on time to get to my own freakin’ b-day party, I don’t have much time to blog. That’s ok, in the big “blogging vs. leaving on time for beer” competition, the beer wins. Have a good weekend.

Oh, my. Aren’t I neglectful? Two and a half weeks since I’ve posted anything. Just have to start fixing that. (And what’s worse — in the meantime, I helped my brother set up a blog. Sure, I can’t tend to mine, but I can get his up and running.)

I should have some photos to post in the next day or two. I took the lazy way out and had the nice folks at the processing lab put them on disk for me. Just didn’t have the time to scan and retouch them all. I hope there are some good ones. FYI, since I’ve made this blog public again, I’ve removed the map/address information from the family reunion information that was posted here. If you need anything that’s been deleted, let me know and I’ll dig it up for you.

Everyone else: Welcome. I haven’t been able to put the time I wanted to into setting this place up. I’m still unpacking, so bear with me. I’m sure it will be a nice little time killer eventually. Until then, browse through my links. I’m sure you’ll find something to keep you occupied.

Little update for you:It’s HOT

Little update for you:
It’s HOT here. Pack accordingly, if you’re coming in from out of town. It’s been in the 90s off and on lately and the forecast is saying mid-80s for the rest of this week and the weekend. And, as is customary in Wisconsin this time of year, the air is mighty thick. (Ahh… humidity. 92 degrees? Feels like 100! Whee!)
