More things that make me happy

Friday, February 27th, 2004 | Fun With Teh Intarweb | No Comments

Loads of new drawings from yesterday and today are up at Exploding Dog.

I think this one’s my new favorite.

You like me. You really like me.

Well, it looks like this place gets more visitors than I thought it did. I exceeded my bandwidth allowance. (Luckily for me, The Powers That Be are fabulous with the increases. Thanks, TPTB. You rock.)

Sorry for any site downage you may have encountered yesterday.

Give it up

Damn.

Sammiches

Thursday, February 26th, 2004 | Life in Czeltistan | 3 Comments

Last week, I had the misfortune of eating the absolute worst Subway sandwich I’d ever eaten in my life. Stale bread that crumbled into pieces when you touched it, so much lettuce that you couldn’t find — let alone taste — the other toppings, and the rocket scientist “sandwich artist” decided that the mayo should go on top of everything else, right down the middle of the sandwich. (Think: It was kind of like eating a Twinkie.)

Since I got it to go, I didn’t realize how terrible it was until after I’d gotten back to work. Since I didn’t have the time to take it back to the store and carefully instruct them how to make a proper sandwich, I decided I’d fire off a comment to the corporate office and just let them know how displeased I was.

Well, last night’s mail yielded two items in the mailbox.

Item #1 was a letter from Subway’s corporate office semi-apologizing for the crappy food, but reminding me that most of their stores were independently owned and operated, so don’t forget to come back and try them at another location real soon!

Item #2: A postcard for $2 off at the Quiznos that just opened near my house.

Guess which piece of mail I’m going to pay more attention to.

(Besides — though I’m not a huge Quiznos fan, they’ve discovered the genius of Joel Veitch, so I can give them another shot.)

At the movies

Screw that Mel Gibson film. I’m going to see this flick instead.

Another comic

Added her! to the comics list over there on the right.

Thanks to BB, who said this one reminded her of me, for the tip.

(And actually, this one is quite me, also.)

Day of the Squirrelly

Tuesday, February 24th, 2004 | Fun With Teh Intarweb | No Comments

If you haven’t been over to Defective Yeti to congratulate Matthew and the Queen on the arrival of the squirrelly yet, go do so.

I think the cat’s already plotting against them, though.

Fun with critters

Got some time to kill? Got a London tube map handy? See if you can find any animals.

Makes me want to go get out all my subway maps and start looking.

Good job, guys!

It’s not one of my clients, but since Steelbuddha’s on the team, I gotta give props — the Trek Project One site is Macromedia’s Site of the Day.

Busy, busy, busy

Monday, February 23rd, 2004 | Life in Czeltistan | 2 Comments

Sorry, kids. Got buried under work today (so that’s where the last two weeks’ worth of work went! It was hiding!), so I didn’t get a chance to go looking for goodies.

Wanna see what happy looks like? Favorite beer, favorite drinking buddy, favorite spot in favorite bar. Oh, yeah.

Those stupid bar puzzles off to the right were the bane of our existence that night, though. Evil, evil things. (Oh, and Christyl — you’ll be happy to know I left Yeats in the photo. You’re welcome.)

Turns out this is the most fun you can have with Viagra

The Viagra Prank. (Don’t forget to check out all 5 parts.) Brought to you by the same nice man who did the credit card signatures prank I blogged earlier.

Sweet zombie Jesus, this is funny.

Link swiped from …the average bear. Thanks, Doyce!

A fine idea

I’m sure by now you’ve read the LiveJournal post on sending flowers to random couples waiting in line to get married outside SF’s courthouse.

Well, this guy takes it one step further. Now you don’t have to fork over $40-$50 to send flowers to a happy couple. Just kick in what you can, he’ll pool the money and order the flowers.

Hooray!

It’s SA Day!

Friday, February 20th, 2004 | Life in Czeltistan | 3 Comments

Oh, happy day. It’s Smithwicks Arrival Day! (Oh, sure, it was SA Day yesterday in Madison. The bastards. *sound of door slamming as Mimi heads off to her local*)

It’s like Christmas! Actually — it’s better than Christmas, as I rarely ever get over to Paddy’s on Christmas.

Mmm. Smithwicks.

Oh, happy, happy Czelt.

Cute and fun

I can’t remember if I’ve ever posted a link to Orisinal’s site or not, so I’m doing it now. Cute little games, and designed for those of us who are much better off with easy controls.

Ha! It is important.

Guess someone over at the Proposition 22 Legal Defense and Education Fund should have paid more attention during English class.

Semicolons rock.

Haughey goodness while MeFi’s down

Thursday, February 19th, 2004 | Fun With Teh Intarweb | 3 Comments

MeFi, she’s down again. (It’s ok. I’ve gotten practice at this. I won’t start twitching until at least tomorrow.)

So, if you need your Matt Haughey fix in the meantime, you should really go check out his Ten Years of My Life project.

The most delightful pix so far, as far as I’m concerned, are of his first encounters with snow and ice. (Gettin’ sick of it yet, Matt?)

Of course, this one from San Diego’s W Hotel is priceless. My friend Laura wants to know if that’s “Beep, beep, beep” more as in “Roadrunner cartoons” or as in “from a semi, a la BJ and the Bear.”

They Saved TV, A Lot

Found this cartoon while perusing the boards over at Fireflyfans.net.

Thought the Joss fans among you might enjoy it.

The definition of cruelty

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004 | Life in Czeltistan | 5 Comments

Drove past my new gym last night (opens in a month!) and noticed something I hadn’t noticed when I signed up:

Directly across the street and (in theory) visible through the front window of the gym: Dunkin Donuts.

Oh, cruel cruel fate. Why must you taunt me so?

Like getting your fix

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004 | Fun With Teh Intarweb | 3 Comments

Oh, thank god. The twitching can stop. The MeFi server’s fixed.

Six days. Six whole days. It was horrible.

I think this sums up the feeling of relief nicely.

Awww. Black Death’s kinda cute

It’s amazing what people will buy these days. Who wouldn’t want a Giant Microbe?

(God, how I wish I could get into Toy Fair.)
