The Last Record Shop

Monday, March 27th, 2006 | Tunes!

A couple of Austin, TX music collectors bought up an old Ohio record store. The cool part: The store closed in 1970 and has been sitting untouched since then. Musical time capsule, anyone? The collectors at the next few Austin record shows are going to go nuts.

Make sure you check out the photos. Man, what I wouldn’t give for some of the point-of-purchase displays — especially that Capitol Records sign.

Wow! Sounds like heaven on earth.

Plus, because the store closed in 1970, we can be sure it carries no copies of (ulp) Frampton Comes Alive.
