Ok, I’m really starting to not enjoy the news this week

First Leslie Harpold, now Peter Boyle? Dammit.

Boyle was pretty much good in any role he had, but to this day, all I have to do is think about him doing “Puttin’ on the Ritz” as the monster in “Young Frankenstein” and it cracks me right up. I’m sorry I’ll never get to see him in a new role.

I will always fondly remember him for bringing auto-erotic asphyxiation as a cause of death to mainstream television via “The X-Files.” He was brilliant in that episode!

czeltic girl

Yes. “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose” is quite probably the best-ever X-Files episode out there.

Sadly, you can now also add Lamar Hunt to that list -
Lamar Hunt, the 74-year-old pioneer of the modern NFL, died Wednesday night after a long battle with cancer. Hunt led the AFL-NFL merger and coined the term “Super Bowl.”

..Also the fact that he had been a Brother in the order of Christian Brothers adds to his “legend.”

Oh, and I read in a Boyle obit that, get this, John Lennon was best man at his wedding.

yeah, I was singing (in a hollowed out voice) “Puttin’ On The Ritz” all day myself. here’s a e-toast to him!
