Pick out your state

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 | Fun With Teh Intarweb

Skyline made up of the tallest building from each state.

The white one with the hideous US Bank sign at the top is ours. God, how I hate that sign.

The dull block 10 from the left is ours, Republic Plaza. Funny, there’s a building in downtown Denver that looks just like the first one.

what if people complained about this on the wesite you posted today, Thursday, 9/27, to the US Bank to replace the sign with something more attractive…at least a better font? The sign is such a turnoff that I would not even think to consider checking into US Bank for any business just based on that very tacky sign…looks like they are very clueless, have no class and that baseness just might extend to their service….and all because of their sign.

The dull block with the lunchbox handle one to the left of M@’s is ours. Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, at 788 ft. There’s an 828 ft. Met building going up right now, though, and there’s proposals floating to build a 1200 ft. sinkhole magnet down the street. I don’t know who thinks it’s a good idea to build that high in this day and age, especially in a city that’s in danger of being washed out to sea if the ocean level gets much higher. I didn’t think our bedrock was strong enough to support something that tall even if there was no danger of erosion and flooding, but whatever.

As ugly as the sign is, the building’s barely better. What’s with that break in the “X” patterning about 4/13 of the way up (i.e., no logical proportion, and top-heavy) that makes the building look as if King Kong’s going to come along and snap off the top part of it? Ugly…
