Light(house) at the end of the construction tunnel

Monday, October 22nd, 2007 | Life in Czeltistan, You Call This News?

Hooray! After years of renovation, the North Point Lighthouse is finally almost ready to open. Construction on the keeper’s quarters finishes this month. There’s a formal ribbon cutting/dedication for media, dignitaries, etc. and an open house for volunteers in mid-November. Hopefully everything will be open to the general public shortly thereafter. Landscaping won’t be done until spring, but that’s ok. It’ll look a zillion times better without dumpsters and construction equipment in the yard, so no one will really notice until then.

Guess I’d better get to brushing up on my lighthouse history, or I’ll be the world’s least-useful docent.

I looked at the website…pretty cool. Let me know when you begin tours and I will be there :)

I don’t know – I think “World’s Least Useful Docent” would make an awesome t-shirt.
