Good news for a change

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008 | Uncategorized

Kind of impersonal to blog when it’s good news, but frankly, I just don’t have it in me to make individual phone calls. (Thank you all for being so awesome, and I do appreciate all the calls to check up on me, but I think I’ll hide from my phone for a little while now. I’m not a phone person by nature, so it’s been a little overwhelming.)

Anyhow…

I got my job back.

Well, sort of. There are some changes in what I do and how some of it’s done, I’ve got a new manager, and some of the duties have been expanded, but all in a good way. I’ll still be at half-time for a few weeks, starting full-time again around May 15. (This last part is good. I have stuff I need to get done before I go back to 40-hour weeks.)

I don’t know yet when I start or any other particulars. The partners, my new boss and HR are going to talk this afternoon and let me know tomorrow what they’ve worked out.

So there we go. That’s my news. Now let’s hope things settle down in the Republic of Czeltistan for a little while. It’s been a bumpy year.

Congrats!! Enjoy the free time before you start back full time. I’m glad to see the powers that be came to their senses and snapped you back up before someone else did.

Thank Hermes, I sacrificed a rabbit and prayed you’d get a good deal sooner or later!

(except for the part about sacrificing a rabbit)

Hurray! Hey, it’s not impersonal to me. You don’t even have my phone number, and I am VERY interested in your news. Congratulations and lots of luck.

Now, more stories about beer, ok? :D

Well done ! My call obviously put you over the top and you still have plenty of free time to follow the NHL/AHL playoffs. Go Preds (or Red Wings if they win) !

Feeling waaaay better about life and work knowing that I have my comrade back. I had NO one to open up a can of Strunk & White whupass with me this month. Terribly times. Mythically terrible. Welcome back, lady.

Good. I’d hate to have seen you wandering the streets, asking for spare change, and proofreading the other street people’s signs.

They say that Randy was ambivalent, but Simon’s vote put you over the top! As usual, nobody knew what the hell Paula was talking about.

I’m so confused by those people over there. I’m glad they at least partially came to their senses.

Great news! Hadn’t heard from you for a while so checked your archives to see if you landed. And you did. Most excellent. Hope you’re well.
