Things I love about Wisconsin, part 456

Friday, January 16th, 2004 | Life in Czeltistan

Driving back to work from lunch today, I passed by the tennis courts at the base of the bluff on the lakefront. They were snow-covered and empty, save for one court. On that court were two gentlemen wearing tracksuits, shoveling off the snow. In the corner were their duffle bags and rackets.

Oh, sure. It’s cold and windy and there’s snow on the ground, but that’s not going to stop them from getting in a set or two.

Wisconsinites: We’re hardy people.

I lurk on this blog. I never have anything funny to say or any comments to make and it’s really unfair.

The best thing about a subzero wind chill? It keeps the riffraff out.

Suggestions for moving north? Umm… bring a scarf. It’s chilly.

Oh, except August. August sucks mightily. Bring an air conditioner.
