I need a social life

Found me another new obsession, yes I did, and it doesn’t even involve television or toast. (Oh, please — I have plenty of those obsessions already.)

A coworker and I were discussing the 1000 Journals Project site last week and saying how disappointing it was that we had very little chance of ever getting one of the journals. I suggested that it might be fun to do our own journal projects. So, I went out hunting for some journals this weekend. Found some that are perfect — not too big, not too small. I plan to start with five, maybe ten if it goes well. I have homes for a couple of them, but I’m still trying to decide where to send the rest.

Here are the rules:
1) You may use up to two pages in the journal for your contribution.
2) Content is completely your own decision. Pictures, words, collage, drawings, poetry, grocery lists, completely unrelated sentences, etc — all are welcome.
3) You have up to one week to complete your contribution and pass the journal on to someone else.
4) When the journal is full, the last person can e-mail me and I’ll send an SASE to send it home. (I’m trying to keep this as low-cost as possible. I’d put an SASE inside of it, but since I don’t know if it would wind up within the US, that might be futile, and I don’t want someone to get stuck with the cost of sending it home.)

Sounds fun, no? If you think you want to start one of these little babies out, e-mail me. We’ll talk.
