Guinness bubbles really do sink.

Whew. Now everyone can get back on with their lives.

It could also be that, after extensive research, the bubbles seemed to be sinking because the research team was observing them from the floor.

I don’t believe a word of it, and I intend to perform extensive research of my own to disprove it.

“Lives”? What “lives”?

After much more research, I found that the bubbles were standing still. The pub was rising…

If the whole contents of the glass are moving downwards (in the act of quaffing) surely those bubbles do go downwards also?

However, if the experiment is repeated, say 15 times within a short space of time, peristalsis will reverse and the bubbles will rise with the rest of the contents. (Unless of course one is kneeling in front of the long white telephone to Huey…..jeez, science can be complicated)
